Contact
Center Provider DTSI’s Sales Hit P317M
Business World-7

Contact Center solutions provider DTSI posted P317 million
in sales revenues for the first semester and expects
its business to increase further as the Philippines
continues to be a preferred call center site.
In a press briefing, DTSI Executive Vice-President
and Chief Operating Officer Mike Cardenas said they
expect business to double this year with the company’s
sales revenues already hitting P400 million this month.
Last year, DTSI registered sales revenues of P260
million.
The company currently services 32 contact centers
and has installed over 10,000 call center seats out
of approximately 20,000 seats in the country today.
“The call center is approximately 80% people
and 20% technology. We make sure the technology works.
We want to make the cots of technology as low as possible,
“ Mike Cardenas said.
DTSI, which was founded in 1997 as a joint venture
between Fujitsu Philippines and NewGen Holdings, is
a systems integrator and technology solutions and
services provider for call centers.
It provides solutions for business communications,
network infrastructure, building electronics, business
software and offers information technology and human
resource outsourcing.
Mr. Cardenas said DTSI would target some 250,000
small and medium enterprises in the United States
as the prospective clients that would consider outsourcing
their non-core operations to call centers in the Philippines.
He added the country has the edge in the call center
business as the country has good communication facilities
and labor force. “The Philippines has superior
infrastructure in placing calls to and from the US.
India has good infrastructure within the country,”
he said.
But DTSI Manager of Plans and Controls Florian Groebel
said the Philippines must maintain its edge in the
call center business as India and China are catching
up. Among DTSI’s customers are Accenture, AIG,
AmbergrisSolutions, APAC, Convergys, Contact World,
Customer Contact Center, ICT, Infonxx, PeopleSupport,
Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., SourceOne
and SVI Connect.
